Friedensnobelpreis an "Ärzte ohne Grenzen" OSLO. Der Friedensnobelpreis
geht in diesem Jahr an die internationale Hilfsorganisation Médecins
sans Frontières. Das teilte das Nobelpreiskomitee am 15. Oktober in
Oslo mit. Mit dem Preis werde die "humanitäre Pionierarbeit" gewürdigt,
die die Ärzteorganisation auf verschiedenen Kontinenten geleistet habe.
"Ärzte ohne Grenzen" habe bewiesen, daß bei Katastrophen "nationale
Grenzen und politische Gegebenheiten oder Sympathien keine Rolle spielen
dürfen". Zugleich habe die Organisation den Grundsatz beachtet, daß
"alle Opfer von humanitären Katastrophen oder Naturkatastrophen das
Recht auf möglichst schnelle und wirksame professionelle Hilfe haben".
"Médecins sans Frontières" wurde im Dezember 1971 von Ärzten in Frankreich
gegründet. Zu den Mitbegründern gehört der französische Politiker Bernard
Kouchner, der gegenwärtig im Auftrag der Vereinten Nationen den Aufbau
der Zivilverwaltung im Kosovo leitet. Der Friedensnobelpreis, die wichtigste
Auszeichnung der internationalen Politik, ist mit 1,8 Millionen Mark
